As the name suggests, this one-day course is aimed towards beginners with little to no prior experience climbing, indoors or outdoors.

Our full-day introduction is designed to give motivated participants a great understanding of what rock climbing entails through exciting moderate climbs on natural rock. Climbers will experience the joy of discovering the courage, strength and creative problem-solving they didn’t know they had, while immersing themselves in a fun day outdoors alongside our encouraging, seasoned instructors. By day’s end everyone involved will feel a sense of great accomplishment and feel comfortable enough to go climbing with more experienced friends.

Our highly trained climbing instructors will educate you on:

  • How to outfit yourself for a day at the cliffs.

  • Climbing techniques; including movement and how to use the natural features of the rock to climb efficiently.

  • How to belay confidently. We cover top-rope belaying, lead belaying, belaying a climber of differing weight, and review the different belay devices available in the market so that students understand which is better for different climbing situations.

This course will be taught at a 4:1 or 8:2 student-to-guide ratio maximum. This lets us teach a wealth of material in a timely manner and reinforce/support/promote solid individual performance.

Prerequisites/Requirements:

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone
